How we do it?
1. Specification
At the start of the process, we take the time to fully understand your business and its needs. We’ll put together a formal specification document detailing the project’s technical specifications including processor type, memory requirements, software, chassis, construction and manufacturing processes and go through it with you so we both know what’s required.
2. Proposal
Once the specification is agreed and signed off by you the customer and Sight Systems, we will then provide you with a full quotation and proposal as to how we will develop your unique requirements into working prototype. The proposal also includes project time scales, project costs, tooling charges and estimated production costs.
3. Design
Our team will design the fully rendered 3D model taking into account all your unique features as well as cooling, ventilation, circuit diagrams, airflow and much more. The result is a complete model which the client can twist and turn and look at in great detail. Major mile stones are put in place to ensure the customer is following the design at every step of the way.
4. Prototyping
With the detailed design signed, creating a prototype is a key stage in guaranteeing your system will live up to your expectations. We build ours in-house, producing mechanical components, custom PCBs and wiring assemblies ourselves and fully testing the end product to the agreed specifications, including thermal and power supply load test. Any technicalities are ironed out at this early stage.
5. Production
Only after all of the above stages and reviewing the design with you will we go into production. Our production test plan ensures that every system that leaves our premises passes electrical safety, burn in and functional tests. Each system is shipped with a dedicated test certificate. Ongoing improvements to the design will continue as part of our commitment to quality and our customers.
